NSF Funds Study on Faculty Assessment Mental Models

grant
The National Science Foundation has awarded a $349,157 grant for a project titled "Faculty Assessment Mental Models in Engineering Education (FAME)." This collaborative project with Dr. Holly Matusovich (Engineering Education) at Virginia Tech investigates how engineering faculty members understand and conceptualize assessment in their courses. The project aims to improve our understanding of faculty decision-making around assessment practices in engineering education. This is especially important given the large role that assessment plays in engineering education, and the fact that not all faculty members may be trained in assessment practices.
